FINANCIAL HELP FOR MEDICARE BENEFICIARIES A free screening for financial assistance for Medicare beneficiaries at the Coffee County Senior Center in Manchester will be held on Thursday, August 5 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Sessions are for anyone interested in getting assistance paying for Medicare Part D (prescriptions) or Part B (premiums) or Part D low Income Subsidy. TUMBLING TOTS designed for children ages 3 - 5 years old. Participants achieve better balance, self-esteem and socialize with other children. WESTWOOD JR HIGH SCHOOL has renamed the football field, DYER-BOULDIN FIELD after Mr. Gary Dyer and Mr. Bill Bouldin, both retired coaches and educators with the Manchester City Schools. A formal ceremony will be held prior to the 2010-2011 football season opening game August 12.

USDA SURPLUS COMMODITIES The South Central Human Resource Agency will be giving away the USDA surplus commodities at the Ada Wright Center, August 13. CAMP OUT hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department, beginning on Friday, August 27 and ending on Saturday, August 28 at 7:00 AM. HICKERSON STATION VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT APPRECIATION DAY with free refreshments, bounce houses and fire truck for the kids with helicopters, rescue vehicles, ambulance, police cars, and K-9, Saturday, August 28 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

Good Samaritan Ministry would like to thank all of their wonderful supporters. They were able to provide financial aid for 445 families in the form of utility assistance, housing, gas and medications. Food pantry provided for 703 families. Heartfelt appreciation to all the volunteers who work to make this happen...it's how doors are kept open to provide assistance for those truly in need.
